Catholic Readings for Today

Today’s Bible Quote Inspiration – John 14:27

Peace in our hearts is one of the most important gifts that we need now to pacify these turbulent waves of today’s life.

Your heart should remain calm all the times. You should never be afraid or troubled, no matter what the evil one does to you. This is because Jesus assures us of His Peace and strength through the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said this to His Disciples as he was going back to the Heavenly Father. The disciples were beginning to fear the departure of Jesus. This is because the Jews were baying for the blood of whoever was preaching about Jesus.

Jesus’ assignment on earth as True God and true Man had come to an end and He had to return to the Heavenly Father. But spreading the Good News to all corners of the world had to continue.

We, today, are being assured of the Peace of Heart by Jesus because we are the ones proclaiming the Good News now. The Holy Spirit is here with us and He gives us the strength to endure suffering and persecutions from the evil one.

Prayer: Jesus Christ, you have assured us of your Peace and Strength as we proclaim your Holy Word to all the nations. We pray for more strength because now persecutions in form of terrorism is taking shape. Help us to remain unshaken. Amen.
