Jesus continues to reassure us of His endless and unconditional love. He calls us friends because He does not see us as subjects who should do only what we are told to do without cause or reason. He sees us as people with liberty and free choice. The choice Jesus gives us is to Love. Once we love we become His friends.
Christ came to free us from the captivity of the evil one who rules the dark world. He loves us with all His heart and calls us His friends. This is a very great gift from Christ!
Imagine your friend giving up his or her life for the sins or mistakes you have committed? You can never doubt any more that that friend loves you unconditionally and with all his/her heart.
Jesus tells us that if we obey his greatest commandment of loving the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls and minds and also love our neighbours as ourselves, we will become his friends.
If we become is friends we will bear good fruit as our Heavenly Father wants. If we bear good fruit, anything we ask the Heavenly Father in Jesus name He will give us.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, continue being our friend, shower us with your endless love so that we may continue bearing good fruits as our Heavenly father desires. Amen
