Today’s Bible Verse of the Day Reflections

Who would like to be called a fool on the last day by God? I know no one would, but let us analyze what is it that we do, that can make God call us fools.

You know, most of us have been taken captive by money and material wealth. Some others by promiscuity and idolatry, others by administrative and political power. These are some of the things that are driving a wedge between us and God.

Jesus knows very well that people tend to start worshiping all these earthly things and forget our God who in the first place is the owner of us human beings together with all the wealth we are boasting with.

We acquire a little wealth and think that we can now survive on our own without the help of God. How wrong we are!

Jesus tells us that God, the giver of life, will demand that life from us on the last day, and depending on where you stored your treasures, your souls will be taken to that destination.

If you store your treasures in material wealth here on earth, your destination will be in the fiery Gehennah. If you store your treasures in the Kingdom of God, then your destination will be in that Kingdom.

Now, how do you store treasures in the Kingdom of God? You do that by knowing God, loving Him, serving Him, praising and glorifying Him all the days of your life.

You serve God by using the wealth he has given to you to serve His church and the least of your brothers like the sick, prisoners, people living with disabilities, etc.

Let us today stop substituting the Lord our God with the material wealth we have acquired because we are just passers-by here on earth.

The one who created and placed us here on earth will come for us and demand to see if we fulfilled the purpose He created us for.

If we did, then we rejoin Him in His Kingdom. If not, we get thrown into the fiery Gehennah where we will weep and grind our teeth.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, help us to put our treasures in the Kingdom of Heaven so that on the last day we may be accepted into everlasting life in heaven where we will praise and glorify You together with the Communion of Angels and Saints. Amen.
