Blessed’s Biography
Bl Aloysius Luis Rabata was a Carmelite priest and founder of the reformed monastery in Randazzo, Italy. He was murdered in 1490 in Trapani, Italy. Before he died, he forgave his assailant and refused to say who it was, for fear that the person would be punished. Aloysius was buried under the main altar in the church of the Carmelite monastery in Trapani. Some relics were transferred to Sicily in 1617 and others transferred to an urn on August 13, 1913 under the Altar of the Assumption in the Basilica of Santa Maria.
