Blessed Enrico Rebuschini was on April 28, 1860, at Gravedona, Como, Italy. His father was a tax official. Enrico had five siblings. He graduated from the Como high school and the mathematics department at the University of Padua. As part of his basic military service, he graduated from the non-commissioned officer’s school in Milan, and in 1882. Enrico got an accounting diploma and started working in the administration of his brother-in-law’s silk factories. After two years, however, Enrico resigned from an accounting job. He wanted to devote himself to become a priest.

Enrico ministered to the sick in Verona, Italy from 1889 to 1899, making his solemn Camillian vows in 1891, and then served at the San Camillo di Cremona nursing home the rest of his life–almost 40 years. For 34 years Enrico served as a treasurer of his community and superior for 11. Father Enrico’s life was one of prayer and service in the day-to-day needs of other people.
