Blessed Jean Mopinot, also known as Brother Léon, was a Brother of the Christian Schools. He was born on December 12 1724 in Rheims, Ardennes, France and died as a martyr on May 21 1794 aboard the prison ship Deux-Associés, in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, France during the anti Catholic persecutions of the French Revolution. He is one of the Martyrs of the Hulks of Rochefort. We celebrate his feast day on May 21 every year in the Catholic Church.

Bl Jean Mopinot was a member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, and on January 14, 1744, he joined the Novitiate.
Jean was held captive aboard the prison ship Deux-Associés, in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, and left to die during the anti–Catholic persecutions of the French Revolution.
