Blessed’s Biography

Blessed John Rochester was the son of John Rochester of Terling and Grisold of Bobbingworth. He was a Carthusian Monk in the London Charterhouse. Later John became a priest, but was banished by the government to the Charterhouse of Saint Michael in Hull, Yorkshire for refusing to accept King Henry VIII as head of the church. He was martyred together with Blessed James Walworth.
