Blessed Lucio del Rio was a Mercedarian priest and confessor of King James II of Castille, Spain. He was born in 1242 AD and died at the Santa Eulalia Mercedarian convent in Barcelona, Spain in 1342 AD. We celebrate his feast day on May 21 every year in the Catholic Church.
