Biography

Blessed Marcos Caldeira, Jesuit novice. Martyred by the Huguenot Jacques Sourie while on the way to Brazil. Among a band of forty Spanish, Portuguese and French Jesuit preachers martyred by the Huguenot privateer Jacques Sourie while in transit to Brazil. Drowned July 15, 1570, by being tossed off the ship Santiago close Palma, Canary Islands.
