Blessed Marie Leonie Paradis Life History
Blessed Marie Leonie Paradis was to a poor but pious family and was the only daughter of Joseph Paradise and Emilie Grégoire. They also had three sons, while two other children died, she received her education from the Sisters of Notre-Dame in Laprairie. Later she joined the Marianite Sisters of the Congregation of the Holy Cross on 21 February 1854. She taught girls in Montreal, in New York, and in Indiana and with 14 of her sisters, she founded the Poor Sisters of the Holy Family in 1877.
