Blessed’s Biography
Bl Michal Giedroyc was born in a Royal family in 1425 AD and was related to the princes of Lithuania. He was a metal worker with only formal education. Bl. Michal Giedroyc joined the Augustinian Canons Regular of the Penance of the Blessed Martyrs, an Order now extinct, in Kraków, Poland. There he lived as a hermit in a cell next to an Augustinian monastery and finished his education at the University of Kraków. Bl. Michal Giedroyc received a vision of Christ who told him, “Be patient until death, and you will receive the crown of life.” He was known for the gifts of prophecy and miracles.
Death
He died on May 4, 1485, in Kraków, Malopolskie, Poland of natural causes and buried at the church of Saint Mark in Kraków.
