Blessed Peter II of La Cava was born in the 12th century in Italy. He was a Benedictine monk at Santissima Trinita monastery, Cava Dei Tirreni, Salerno, Campania, Italy under the leadership of Blessed Benincasa.
He was the head of the Monks of the house in 1195. Peter obtained the support of Emperor Henry VI for the house. Involved in the region’s politics of the day. He established the hospice of Vietri Sul mare in 1202.

Blessed Peter II Death
Blessed Peter died on 13 March 1208 at Santissima Trinita monastery, Cava dei Tirreni, Italy. He died of natural causes
His body was then buried in the Arsicia cave crypt near the monastery. Blessed Peter’s relics were then transferred to the chapel of Santi Padri at La Cava abbey on 20 October 1675.
