Parish Short History
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church was dedicated on January 17, 1960. Prior its Homewood location, a fire broke out and it is after, that the parish eventually relocated to Homewood where it has been ever since.
The new church was built in Homewood the first Fourth of July Festival was held in 1949.
The school began operation in 1951 and the school auditorium served as the church for the next eight years. In 1962, the residency of the priest was built.
In 1990 the Botti Studios of Evansville, Illinois began installing the Seven Sorrows of Mary stained glass windows in the church. Eventually leading to September 15th, 1991 when the windows got dedicated on the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows,
