Biography
Blessed Adolf IV of Schauenburg, Destined to nobility. The count of Schauenburg, Germany. Conquered the Holstein district of present-day Germany from attacking agnostic Danes in 1225. Crusader to Livonia in 1228. Established cloisters in Hamburg and Kiel in Germany. Joined the Franciscans in Hamburg in 1239. Appointed in 1245.
