Blessed Beatrix of Valfleury Biography
Blessed Beatrix of Valfleury, born into a wealthy family. A devout child, at the age of seven she moved to a monastery in Béguines. Later she joined the Cistercian nuns in Valfleury, France. Known for severe austerity measures that punish her body almost to the point of torture. Got a vision of Jesus. Founded the Monastery of Our Lady of Nazareth near Lier, Belgium, and served as the first prioress.
