Bl. Burchard I of Halberstadt Biography

Bl. Burchard I of Halberstadt was also known as Burchard of Nabburg. He was the son of Henry of Schweinfurt, Margrave of Nordgau in Bavaria, Germany, and Gerberga von Henneberg, a little girl of Count Otto II. Learned at the cloister school of Saint Emmeram in Regensburg, Germany. Mainstream government official.

Chancellor to ruler Conrad II in 1032. Notwithstanding working in the majestic court he was noted for his own devotion and his genuine case of a Christian on the planet.
