Biography
He was born in Drumkeen, County Donegal, Ireland in 1530. He went to school at the Franciscan convent in Donegal Town. During his service in Rome, he was appointed Bishop of Down and Connor by the then Pope Gregory XIII on April 27, 1582, and later consecrated by Cardinal Nicolas de Pelleveon on 2nd February 1583.
