Biography
Blessed Elisabeth lived in the Netherlands in the 13th century. Her parents planned an arranged marriage for her. With her husband’s blessings, she lived the first year of their marriage alone. Trying to discover her calling.
After knowing she had a calling to religious life, the couple separated and Elizabeth joined the monastery of St. Desiderius in Champagne, France. She later served as its abbess for three years.
Bl. Elisabeth then went on to become a nun at Aywiers monastery in Aquiria, now Belgium. She was best known for her dedication to Christ.
