Blessed Giovanna Francesca Michelotti Biography
When Ann was at a very young age, her father died leaving her to grow in poverty. However, her family always had the time to care for those worse than them. She joined the sisters of Saint Charles in Lyon, France. Unfortunately, Ann lost her mother and brother (Antonio) which led her to join the novitiate of the sisters in Lyon in 1863 having the name Sister Giovanna Francesca of the Visitation.
The congregation was later dissolved in 1871, and Sister Giovanna left to live with her Fathers family for a while before she founded the Little Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1874. This was to cater for the sick poor from which the servants continue their good work today. She died in 1888 after a long spell of bronchial asthma.
