Blessed Guglielmo of San Romano Biography
Blessed Guglielmo of San Romano lived in the time San Pietro Nolasco. In 1225, he accompanied him to Algeria where they freed 219 Christians enslaved by Muslims. Guglielmo remained as a hostage to guarantee the payment of the remainder of the ransom for those slaves. He lived there the rest of his life, preaching the gospel to all until he died in the peace of the Lord.
