blessed’s Biography
Blessed Helen del Cavalcanti was born around 1396 in Udine in Northeast Italy. Her father was Count of Maniago. At eighteen, she married in 1414 with Florentine Antonio dei Cavalcanti, and for the next 25 years, she lived in a happy marriage. They had six children.
Helen Valentini became a widow in 1441, she changed her life. She then retired from the world, and under the influence of Augusto Angelo of San Severino, she became tertiary in the Augustine Order.
Helen devoted herself to prayer, well-being toward the needy and rigorous penitentiary. Helen lived in the home of 1446 when she moved to live with her sister Perfecta, who was also August ninth. She made the promise of eternal silence she performed all year round, except at Christmas.
Death
Helen died on April 23, 1458, in Udine of natural causes and her relics moved in the cathedral of Udine, Italy.
