St John Amias Married was born in the early 16th-century in Wakefield, West Riding, England. He was a layman and cloth merchant in Wakefield, England. He was also a father of several children. John was a widower. he distributed his property among his children and studied for the priesthood in Rheims, France. He was then ordained in 1581 AD.
John then, later on, returned to England as a home missioner to covert Catholics. He was arrested at the home of a Mr. Murton in Lancashire for the crime of priesthood. He was finally martyred with Blessed Robert Dalby.
John’s Death
His death was due to hanging, drowning, and quartering on 16 March 1589 AD at York, England.
