Blessed Juan de Mayorga, Jesuit monk. A missionary. Martyred by the Huguenot Jacques Sourie while on the way to Brazil. Among a band of forty Spanish, Portuguese and French Jesuit teachers martyred by the Huguenot privateer Jacques Sourie while on the way to Brazil. Drowned July 15, 1570 by being tossed off the ship Santiago close Palma, Canary Islands.
