Blessed’s Biography
Blessed Juliana of Mont Cornillon was born in the late 1100s in Belgium. Orphaned at age 5 and taken in Augustinian convert. She took the veil at the 14. By the age of 16, she had an aberration. She saw that she could understand a dazzling moon with one dark spot on it. The meaning was there was no feast in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. Based on her vision, she promoted the additional of what became the feast of Corpus Christi in Liege in 1246.
Juliana liked to read the works Saint Augustine and Saint Bernard.
Juliana was driven from Mount Cornillon. Nun at the Cistercian house at Salzinnes until it was burned by Henry II of Luxembourg. Anchoress at Fosses. Juliana was branded as visionary. The feast became mandatory in the Roman Church in 1312.
