Biography

Bl. Luis Obdulio Navarro was drawn to religious living from an early age. He was born into a religious family. Bl. Luis was a layman member of the Third Order of Saint Francis. He also was a driver for the Los Amates city government.

He worked as a catechist in Guatemala, his place of birth. After meeting with Marcello Maruzzo, the two worked together in preaching and catechizing to the poor and homeless in the Izabal Department. Bl. Luis also became a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. He remained unmarried for his entire life.

One day while driving Bl. Tullio Maruzzo home from a meeting of the Cursillo in Los Amates. They were attacked by anti-Catholic guerillas and killed.
