Blessed Maria Pilar of Saint Francis Borgia, the youngest of eleven children of Gabino Martinez and Luisa Garcia; eight of her siblings died in childhood; Their surviving siblings became priests and Carmelites. Jacoba joined the Discalced Carmelites at the Monastery of San José de Guadalajara on October 12, 1898 and adopted the name Maria Pilar of St. Francis Borgia. On October 15, 1899 she made her profession. She is dedicated to the glory of God. Sacristan of her house. Martyr in the Spanish Civil War.
