One of the Carmelite Martyrs of Compiegne, murdered in the counter Christian abuses of the French Revolution. Guillotined on July 17, 1794, at the Place du Trône Renversé (current Place de la Nation) in Paris, France. Before their execution they stooped and recited the “Veni Creator”, as at a calling, after which they all restored out loud their baptismal and religious promises. Among eleven Discalced Carmelite nuns, three lay sisters and two laywomen hirelings who were martyred together in the French Revolution.
