One of the Carmelite Martyrs of Compiegne, murdered in the counter Christian abuses of the French Revolution. Guillotined on July 17, 1794, at the Place du Trône Renversé (present day Place de la Nation) in Paris, France. Before their execution they bowed and recited the “Veni Creator”, as at a calling, after which they all recharged so anyone might hear their baptismal and religious promises. Among eleven Discalced Carmelite nuns, three lay sisters and two laywomen workers who were martyred together in the French Revolution.
