Blessed’s Biography

Blessed Raymond de Blanes was a soldier and a knight in Spain. He was captured by Muslim invaders and imprisoned, then executed for his faith. Raymond was the first Mercedarian martyr. Beheaded on January 6, 1235, in Granada, Spain.
