Biography
Blessed Thomas Bosgrave, present when Fr. John Cornelius was captured in 1594 by the sheriff of Dorsetshire. Rushed away without his cap. Also, every man wore a cap outside.
So Thomas Bosgrave, a kindred Cornishman, stuck his very own cap on the cleric’s head. Saying that “The respect I owe to your capacities won’t endure me to see you go exposed headed.”
So the devilish Sheriff Trenchard captured him as well.
St. Bosgrave executed alongside Fr. Cornelius and his valiant allies (two Irish Catholic hirelings in the family unit where Fr. Cornelius was gotten). Challoner portrays him as a “man of perusing” who had the option to deliver a discourse from the platform about the sureness of the Catholic faith. Compelling to the point that no Protestant pastor set out to bug it or answer to it. He was hung, however not drawn and quartered like Fr. Cornelius.
He was exalted, alongside Cornelius and his sidekicks, in 1929.
