Bl. Thomas Pickering Biography

Bl. Thomas Pickering was a Benedictine lay brother at Saint Gregory Monastery in Douai, France in 1660. He was later sent to England in 1665 to serve as a steward to the Benedictines in the queen’s royal chapel.

He knew Queen Catherine and King Charles II and with no time all the other Benedictines were exiled from England except him. He was falsely accused of plotting to kill the king, found guilty and later martyred.
