Blessed William Hartley Biography

William Hartley Raised a Protestant, he studied at Oxford University and became an Anglican minister. Convert to Catholicism.

Studied in Rheims, France. Ordained in 1580. Returned to England to work with Saint Edmund Campion, ministering to covert Catholics. Arrested in 1582 for being a priest, he was deported.

He soon returned to England to resume his monastery, was captured at Holborn, and executed. Martyr.
