Bl. William of Maleval Biography
Bl. William of Maleval lived a wild life as a soldier during his youth. However, after some time, he got serious with his religious journey and left the military. He became superior of an abbey at |Pisa, Italy in 1153 where he failed and became a hermit on Mount Bruno.
He attracted Christians and founded a monastery in 1154 where he failed again as an abbot. Returned to his life as a hermit in Siena, Italy in 1155 AD in Maleval. There he attracted followers who were called the barefoot friars.
