Blessed Assunta Marchetti
Bl. Assunta Marchetti Biography
Bl. Assunta Marchetti was a co-founder of the Missionaries of Saint Charles Borromeo. Bl. Assunta was an Italian Roman Catholic professed religious. She worked in Brazil from 1895 until her death. She was the third of eleven children. In 1880 her whole family moved to Mulino di Camaiore. Where her father worked as a miller.
After her father’s death, due to pneumonia. Bl. Assunta stoped pursuing her calling in order to help her mother. Afterward, she met Bl. Giovanni Battista Scalabrini and became a nun. Later was when she co-founded the Missionaries of Saint Charles Borromeo. Whose 800 sisters are still working to this day in 26 different countries.

She was beatified by Pope Francis on October 25 2014. The beatification miracle featured the immediate and permanent healing of Heraclides. Who had a heart condition. The beatification is celebrated in São Paulo, Brazil.

Bl. Marchetti is the patron saint of Scalabrinian Sisters.
