St. Aigulphus of Lérins Biography
At age 20, St. Aigulphus of Lérins was a Benedictine monk in France. He was sent to Monte Cassino Abbey to take the relics of Saint Benedict of Nursia. Aigulphus was the head of the Abbey of Lerins in 670 AD initiating the Benedictine rule there.
He was later kidnapped and killed with four of his brother monks by a group which objected the growth of the Christian monks.
