St. Anthony Kauleas Biography
St. Anthony Kauleas was born to a noble family from Phrygia who had fled to the country escaping the Iconoclasts Persecution. He became a monk at age 12 in the area near Constantinople in 893 AD where he worked to seize the schisms caused by his predecessor.
He chaired the fourth Ecumenical Council of Constantinople between 869 AD and 870 AD which reversed all that his predecessor had done. However, all the records of the council were destroyed later by schismatics.
