St. Brinolfo Algotsson Biography
St. Brinolfo Algotsson was the son of Algot Brynolfsson. He schooled at the cathedral of Skara, Sweden and also in Paris, France being lectured by Saint Thomas Aquinas.
He had an extra knowledge in theology and Canon law and afterward became the Bishop of Skara in 1278 where he served for 38 years. Brinolfo became very active in the country’s political life ensuring that the needs and teachings of the church became part of public policy.
He supported missionaries in Sweden until when King Magnus Ladulas forced him to exile in 1288 AD.
