Biography
Saint Bruno of Segni, destined to the Italian nobility. Considered philosophy at the Benedictine religious community of St. Pepetuus at Asti, Italy, and at Bologna, Italy. Benedictine, monk. Appointed in 1079, and alloted to an area at Siena, Italy. Noted for guarding standard Church insight, his insight into Scripture, and his lessons on the Blessed Sacrament. Advocate to four popes. chosen bishop of Segni, Italy in 1080 by Pope Gregory VII. Battled simony and lay induction. In 1095 he resigned to a religious life at Monte Cassino. Chosen abbot in 1107. Following a rebuke of the pope for avoiding his obligation to other people, he was before long arranged back to his see, an employment he satisfied until his demise. Vatican bookkeeper.
