St Cyril of Constantinople Biography
St Cyril of Constantinople was a priest, Teacher and Prior who was known to have had a great devotion to Our Lady. He was the representative from the emperor to the Papal court. He also worked for the union of the Greek and Latin Churches.
When he became persecuted by the Patriarch of Constantinople, Cyril retired to Mount Carmel and became a Carmelite. Prior to three years, and chosen General of the Carmelites. Cyril had the gift of prophecy. He wrote a work on the procession of the Holy Ghost. The earlier writers frequently confused him with Saint Cyril of Alexandria.
