Saint Ðaminh Ðinh Ðat, a layman in the missional vicariate of East Tonkin (in present day Vietnam). A trooper during the abuses of ruler Minh Mang, he was requested by the military to revoke Christianity and demonstrate it by stomping a cross; he denied and was tormented until he yielded and apostasized. A martyr strangled on July 18, 1839 in Nam Ðinh, Vietnam.
