Saint Edmund Rich Biography

Saint Edmund Rich was also known as Edmund of Canterbury. He was destined to a well off and devout family, the child of Reinald and Mabel Rich; his dad resigned to turn into a priest, his two sisters progressed toward becoming nuns. Learned at Oxford, England, and Paris, France. At Oxford, he got a dream of the Child Christ. Minister. Educator of craftsmanship, science, theory and religious philosophy at Oxford.

He was known for his grant, devotion, and expertise as a minister and author. Group of Salisbury, England in 1222. Lectured the Sixth Crusade in England in 1227. Sanctified Archbishop of Canterbury, England on 2 April 1234. Counsel to King Henry III. Managed Henry’s confirmation of the Magna Carta in 1237. Aided his open dealings by Saint Richard of Chichester. Averted common war in Wales. His help for religious control places him in strife with his own request, King Henry III, and the ecclesiastical legate.

He died while on an excursion to Rome to pick up the help of the Pope
