Biography
St. Germanus of Granfield was born to a wealthy family and was educated by St. Modoald of Trier. He was guided through in his Christian life by Saint Arnulf of Metz. He became a monk in Munster-Granfel Abbey then to Remiremont abbey and lastly Luxeuil abbey.
Germanus also became a spiritual student of St. Waldebert before becoming a priest. He later became the abbot of Granfield abbey in Switzerland where he worked with Saint Randoald. He was killed for interceding with the authorities on behalf of the poor.
