Saint’s Biography
Saint Godone di Novalesa lived in the 8th century as a monk and later became the first abbot of the famous abbey of Nova-lesa in France. Godone introduced the Rule of St. Benedict in the monastery of Novalesa instead of that of St. Columbanus, who had evangelized Ireland, Switzerland, and northern Italy. His feast is remembered on 19 January.
