Saint’s Biography
Saint Guthlac was born around 674 in Mercia, England. He was the son of Penwald and Tette and come from royal blood in the house of Mercia. For nine years he had great success in a military career. In 697, he gave his life to Christ, and became a monk. He died on April 11 714 in Croyland, England of natural causes.
