St Justus of Canterbury Biography
St Justus of Canterbury was a Benedictine monk and a priest. He was later sent on a mission to the Anglo Saxons in 601 where he was sent by Pope Gregory the Great. He worked with several saints including St. Augustine of Canterbury, St. Paulinus of York and St. Lawrence of Canterbury.
He was the first bishop of Rochester, England in 604 AD. In 616 AD, there was a rise of the paganism due to the death of King Saint Ethelbert of Kent. St. Mellitus and Justus retreated to Gaul but later resumed in 617. He served as the archbishop of Canterbury in 624 AD.
