St. Maxellendis Biography

St. Maxellendis was the daughter of Humolin and Ameltrudis. She had an arranged marriage to Harduin of Solesmes but she felt a call for religious life. When Harduin and his crew arrived to take her, Maxellendis refused, insisting she wished to become a nun. Angered by her defiance, he killed her

Harduin was immediately struck blind which convinced him of his error. Harduin knelt beside the girl’s coffin, prayed for forgiveness and his eyesight was restored.
