St Mella of Doire-Melle was born in the early 8th century. She was Married and the Mother of Saint Cannech and Saint Tigernach. Unfortunately, her husband died leaving her a Widow. She then decided to become a Nun. Mella was an Abbess of Doire-Melle in County Leitrim, Ireland.
