Saint’s Biography

St Balgan was a Fifth century missionary from Brittany to Britain especially in Wales , he Founded monasteries, including one whose site was chosen through a crozier with healing powers which led him to a tree with “three kinds of fruit” and one of the Breton Missionaries to Britain.

It is known to have carried fire with his bare hands without it bothering him (In medieval legends that is usually a symbol of the fact that the saint maintained sexual purity hence the fire was a symbol of desire)
