St. Theodore the Studite Biography
St. Theodore the Studite was a monk at the monastery of Saccudion, Asia Minor, Turkey in781 AD. He was ordained in 787 and later became an abbot of the Stoudios monastery outside Constantinople in 799 AD. He fought Iconoclasm. His writings and opinions put him in conflict with imperial authorities, which led to him being exiled three times.
