St. Joseph Notre Dame High School Short History
St. Joseph Notre Dame High established by Father William Gleeson in 1881 for girls enrolling students from grade one through twelve. Fr. McNaboe requested the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur to staff a boy’s elementary school in 1887. Elementary School for the boys and girls by Father James Bernard Praught in 1961. The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur stayed with the elementary and high schools until 1990.
The appointed pastor constructed a new high school on the site of Notre Dame thus making it Notre Dame High School in 1960. The direction of the Marianist Brothers ran the school for 35 years until their departure in June 1970. In 1972, Monsignor Wagner honored Pope Paul VI by making the church a minor basilica, renamed after the Saint Joseph Basilica. Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School began in September 1985.

St. Joseph Notre Dame High School Tuition Assistance
The school helps to make education affordable to many families. Applications and awards made annually and determined by reviewing each family’s total resources. Funding is through the generosity of parents, alumni, students, and friends of the school.
Students who join the school can be considered for several scholarships offered each year. Scholarship award for four years to those students who show excel in studies. The four-year amount of the scholarship is $10,000 ($2,500 per year). A new recipient is selected every four years.
